About the Daughters of Norway

Founded in 1908, the mission of the Daughters of Norway (Døtre av Norge) is to "[unite] into a sisterhood, women who wish to preserve Norwegian heritage; maintain among members a knowledge of the history, culture and language of Norway; and build a strong support system and bond of friendship within the sisterhood." This is done by establishing lodges around the United States, and through those lodges educating members about the heritage, culture and language of Norway.
